Admission Procedures
S.Y. 2024-2025
In response to the dynamic changes with regards to our country’s public health and in consideration with the adjustment to the learning modalities, St. Scholastica’s Academy – Bacolod will continue an OPEN ADMISSIONS POLICY for S.Y. 2024-2025. There will be NO ENTRANCE TESTS for new students. In lieu of the admissions test, ALL NEW STUDENTS will go through an ORAL READING for the Grade School Applicants and INTERVIEW for the High School Applicants. This is to ensure that they can cope with the demands of the level they are applying for.
The Admissions Committee based on the records that will be presented by the applicant determines the admission of new students. The Committee admits an applicant whose academic records indicate ability and sufficient preparation for the grade level he/she is applying for and whose personal character traits show promise that he/she will become a contributing member of the school community. The results of the Oral Reading/Interview will also be considered in the decision making process.

Important Note
The Recommender/Rater will directly provide the recommendation forms to the Registrar’s Office through document upload or through on-site submission of the accomplished and sealed form. The applicant will be responsible to coordinate the required process with his/her Recommender/Rater.

| STEP 4: Verification & Acknowledgment | Upon submission, the documents will be checked and verified by the Registrar’s Office. After the verification, the applicant will be given an Admission Exam Schedule and an Exam Permit which shall be brought on the day of the exams. | |

| STEP 5: Oral Reading/Interview | The applicant must go through an ORAL READING/INTERVIEW to assess their level of Reading Comprehension, Spelling and Writing as well as to check on their grades and recommendation. | STEP 6: Decision | The decision of the ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE on the application will be released through the REGISTRAR’S OFFICE three (3) days at the earliest, after the interview. | |
| STEP 6: Reservation | Accepted applicants who wish to enroll to St. Scholastica’s Academy - Bacolod shall accomplish the Enrollment Card from the Registrar’s Office. | |

FOR BOYS:
Boys are admitted in Junior High School if they have completed at least Grades 4-6 in SSA-B or in any ABS school. They should complete Grades 7-10 in SSA-B or in any ABS school to be admitted in Senior High School.
FOR OLD STUDENTS:
- Old students who wish to re-enroll the following school year are requested to present their report card to the Registrar’s Office upon enrolment.
- Students who completed their primary course from the Grade School Department and who wish to be admitted to the High School Department for Grade 7 should have passing grade in all subjects, a satisfactory conduct grade average (81-85%) and have not been suspended in the previous school year.
CUTOFF AGE FOR KINDER & GRADE 1:
- All Kinder applicants must be 5 years old by September 2024
- All Grade 1 applicants must be 6 years old by September 2024
Enrolment is the formal act of the Academy in admitting a student who applies such. It is conditioned on payment of the required fees and compliance by the applicant with the prescribed rules and regulation for admission. Once complied with, the reciprocal relationship between student and school begins-involving rights, duties and responsibilities for both.
- Offices are open from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Business Office is open from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (no noon break). - The paid admission fee and reservation fee is non-refundable.
- To expedite the application process, kindly submit your documents completely, and kindly follow up with the recommender/rater the accomplishment of recommendation forms.
